Hair removal using DPC technology
Dynamic pulse Control (DPC) is a proprietary light-based technology used for permanent reduction of unwanted hair. One of its clearest advantages is that it has a shorter treatment period in comparison to traditional IPLs.
How does it work?
Dynamic PUlse Control (DPC) technology is a powerful light-based technology that effectively targets the hair follicle without harming any other parts of the skin. During the treatment, the heat energy denaturizes the melanin in the hair follicle, and as a result, that follicle cannot grow new hair.
What is the IPL?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and uses a
source of broad-spectrum light. In hair removal,
the light targets the melanin pigment in the hairs.
The hair follicle absorbs the light energy as heat,
warming the hair and causing permanent damage to the
follicle to prevent hair regrowth.

Q. When will I see results?
A. Two weeks following the first treatment you will begin to see results and significantly
less hair will grow back. Additionally, with each treatment, the amount of hair regrowth will decrease.
Q. How long does each treatment take?
A. The typical regimen is 6-10 treatment sessions, spaced 4-12 weeks apart.
Treatment time depends on the area being treated. The average treatment takes approximately 15 minutes.
Q. Why are multiple treatments necessary?
A. About 20-25% of human hair follicles on the body are in the active
growth phase at any given time. This is the percentage of hair follicles that
can be destroyed in a single treatment session. In order to eliminate up to 90%
of the hair, treatments should be repeated until the desired result is achieved.
Q. Are the treatments safe and painless?
A. SharpLight’s DPC treatments are non-invasive and safe. During the
procedure, there may be a slight 1-2 second, monetary tingling sensation that
may be felt, but no pain. The treatments leave you with zero downtime so you
can get them done between your errands or lunch hour and quickly return to your
daily routine.
Q. Is it Permanent?
A. We recommend a touch-up every 6 months to 1 year to keep
with your results, depending how your hair responds to the treatments.

Pre-Treatment Precautions:
• Shave treatment area THOROUGHLY. (If there is ANY hair above the surface the laser will heat up your skin instead of the follicle
making the treatment both uncomfortable and less effective)
• If treating face, please arrive to your appointment with a clean/MAKEUP FREE FACE
• Do not wax, thread, epilate or tweeze treatment area
• Do not tan treatment area 2-3 weeks prior to session
• Avoid using self tanning products for at least 2-3 weeks prior to session
• Stop using glycolic acid and retinoids 3-5 days prior to facial laser
• Stop using Accutane 6 months prior and Tetracycline 3 months prior to session
Post-Treatment Precautions:
• Some redness/swelling can occur and may feel
like a slight sunburn sensation. This should resolve within 2-72 hours.
• Apply minimum SPF 30 to treated areas
• Avoid overly hot showers/ jacuzzis/sauna/ working out for about 48 hours
r until the heat naturally leaves your body.
• Avoid sun/ facial peels/AHA or BHA containing products for 2 weeks.
Please ensure treatment area is shaved prior to your appointment. Any shaving performed in the clinics will incur a $20+ fee depending on areas of treatment.
